books i've read lately that were SO GOOD
the poisonwood bible by barbara kingsolver
borderlands by gloria anzaldua
eva luna by isabel allende
betsey brown by nztoke shange
reading lolita in tehran by that lady whos name i forget

books i want to read:
still life with woodpecker by tom robbins
house of spirits by isabel allende
pigs in heaven by barabara kingsolver

there are a lot more too. got any others? i prefer historical fiction, preferably writen in the first person. also novels by poets are usually good, but whatever books are your favorite i'll try out too.

read woman by natalie angier. it's like a biological history of women, i think i've told you to read it before. seriously read it. so good.

reading lolita in tehran was amazing. pigs in heaven is really good, as is the bean trees if you haven't read it. i also really like kingsolver's collection of essays about nature called small wonder. sounds boring but it's really beautiful. promise! i can lend it to you.

Milan Kundera is amazing. Particularly the Unbearable Lightness of Being, and the Book of Laughter and Forgetting. Those are the only two I've read. Czech historical fiction.
Also, Crime and Punishment was amazing.
B Travel's books about the Mexican Revolution are tight.
